Pruning Workshop at Friendship Botanic Gardens

Learn to prune hedges, shrubs, and bushes at Friendship Botanic Gardens.

Spring is in the air and it’s time to return to our gardens. This is the perfect time of year to get started pruning bushes, hedges, and shrubs. Friendship Botanic Gardens will offer a pruning workshop Saturday, April 19th at 10:30AM CDT. This workshop will be taught by experienced professional gardeners Janice Casper and Joyce Thomason. Thomason is the lead estate gardener for Hamstra Gardens in Wheatfield, IN. The workshop will include a talk on basic pruning techniques, what to look for when pruning, when to prune, tools needed and safety issues when pruning. This will be followed by pruning of select on-site trees and shrubs.
