Young gardeners will enjoy an introduction to the wonderful world of plants, discovering the magic of roots, stems, leaves, and blooms along the way. Together, we’ll dig into the secrets of healthy soil, learn how to read plant tags, and explore what helps flowers thrive and grow. Each child will plant an annual in the Children’s Garden and be invited to return throughout the season to visit their growing creation and watch the garden come to life.

Young gardeners will participate in a game of Eye Spy throughout the Gardens. They will get to plant their own sunflower seed in a pot to take home where it can be grown in their own yard. 

Join us for a fun and imaginative experience where the worlds of plants and animals come together! In this interactive program, we’ll explore the idea of a “Zoo Garden,” featuring plants with animal-inspired names. Children will discover how these unique plants earned their names by matching “animal” plants to the traits and characteristics they resemble.

Along the way, participants will enjoy hands-on activities that spark creativity and curiosity. We’ll wrap up our adventure with a whimsical poem celebrating the playful personalities of our Zoo Garden plants. Come ready to learn, explore, and have fun in this wild and wonderful garden experience!

Come to learn about native plants and grasses for our area. We will share some history about prairies and the animals that lived there. Some interactive visuals will aid in seeing native plant structures. Making a newspaper pot and planting it with a native flower to be taken home will also be a part of the presentation.
